The Sanctuary Tree is a small, private service hosted from simple rooms located in Ardross.

The Sanctuary Tree team works from an attachment and trauma-informed perspective to assist clients to find a place of safety within themselves, in their families (if possible) and in the complex modern world. 

Amanda provides quality Assessments for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and offers ongoing support for Neurodiverse individuals, and parents raising ‘ADHDers’.

 

Amanda Sturrock

REGISTERED PSYCHOLOGIST

Born in London, Amanda grew up in South East England. She moved to Perth for tertiary studies. She remains aware of the beauty of Australia and the challenges of international relocation. Amanda is a lifelong learner and sees two key pathways to healing individuals and communities – education and therapy.
 
A registered psychologist, Amanda has 30 years experience as a teacher, youth worker and counsellor. She has worked in education roles from elite private schools, to Equity programs at Murdoch University. She has worked as counsellor in family separation services, family and domestic violence services, an alcohol and other drug community counselling service and in schools.

Married for over 30 years, Amanda enjoys time with family members, walking in nature, shared meals, contemplation, Pilates, Alexander Technique, movies, children’s literature, a good laugh, the power of the imagination, friendship and simplicity.

Braden Short, JP 

REGISTERED COUNSELLOR. WELLBEING MENTOR. INDUSTRIAL CHAPLAIN.

Braden is a versatile professional with a diverse background, offering mentoring, counselling, and pastoral support to medical personnel, first responders, and industrial chaplains seeking guidance in their personal and professional lives. Braden has a Master's in Social Sciences (Counselling), a Bachelor of Education, a Bachelor of Divinity, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership.

With experience in various industries, including mining, Braden has a unique ability to help individuals tap into their own strengths and move past obstacles that may be holding them back. He believes in the power of self-discovery and works collaboratively with clients to explore new possibilities and find contentment. With qualifications in education, counselling, theology, and a trade certificate, Braden is well-equipped to support individuals in a non-pathologizing manner. Braden is married with an adult son, enjoys good coffee, is learning to fly - fulfilling a lifetime ambition, loves Rugby Union, and when able he enjoys Kyudo, playing World of Tanks, fixing up his Smart Roadster (garage project) and loves Siamese cats.
